FAQ
Q: What kind of clothes should I wear the day of my tattoo?
A: This all depends on the location of your tattoo, but please always wear stretchy, loose clothes that you wouldn't mind getting ink on. Make sure the area you are getting tattooed is completely exposed (ie. dont wear long jeans for a thigh tattoo.) We do have a bathroom you can change in if you're coming straight from work, etc.
Q: Can you send me a preview of the design before my appointment?
A: I do not send out designs. (There are many reasons for this, people stealing the designs and going somewhere else for them, the back and forth conversation about design over text, etc.) Everything will be done in person at the shop the day of your appointment and I’m happy to make any specific changes that day! Please be thorough in your booking request, as major changes will require a $50 redraw fee and your appointment will need to be rescheduled.
Q: How much do you charge?
A: I charge $200/hr. My minimum is $200. The amount of time your tattoo takes all depends on the complexity of your design, size, location, style, and how well you sit. I can provide you with a rough estimate beforehand. This price includes one free touch up, if needed. Touch up must be scheduled within a year of the date I tattooed you.
Q: I booked an appointment with you, but now I want to change my design. Is this okay?
A: Typically, No. I schedule your appointment slot based on the exact design you initially requested. Changing the design will change the amount of time I've blocked out for you, which will effect the other appointments I have scheduled for the day. If you would like to change the design you initially requested, please reach out to me directly ([email protected]) as soon as possible.
Q: I have a dark complexion and I'm worried certain colors won't show up well on my skin tone. Can you do a color swatch?
A: Absolutely! Please message me directly ([email protected]) to discuss the options that best suit you. We will discuss your specific undertones and choose a color palette that compliments the canvas.
Q: How often should I apply Aquaphor/ A&D?
A: Once a day (very thin layer) for a week. After the week is up, you can use unscented lotion to help with the itchiness.
Q: How long until I can go in the sun/ocean?
A: Stay out of the sun and submerged water (baths, ocean, pool, etc.) for 3 weeks.
Q: My Tattoo is itchy and flaking. Is that normal?
A: Yes, that is completely normal. Please do not pick or itch because you can pull the ink out of your skin. You can use unscented lotion to help with the itchiness. Also keep in mind color tends to flake more than black and grey work.
Q: How long until I can work out after getting a fresh tattoo?
A: 48 hours.
Q: Should I keep my tattoo wrapped?
A: No! Only keep the protective wrap on for an hour or until you get home and then take it off and shower. Keeping moisture locked in under the wrap can lead to infection. Let the tattoo breathe as much as possible during the healing process.
Q: What kind of clothes should I wear during the healing process?
A: Do not wear any tight/rough clothing that can scrape across the tattoo. Keep it exposed as much as possible.
Q: What’s your cancellation/ reschedule policy?
A: Cancellations/ reschedules must be made more than 48 hours ahead of time to keep your deposit. No call/ no shows will be terminated and unable to book with me again.
Q: I think my tattoo may be infected. What do I do?
A: Go to a medical aid unit immediately.
